Refugees Welcome in Parks
In this project, I contribute as an external researcher, using my expertise in conducting research on refugee integration topics, as part of an international collaboration.
We try to find out more about people’s everyday lives: how does it feel to live in (Sheffield/Berlin/East London) and what are the places where people like to spend time. When we’ve found out what people say, we are going to make suggestions to decision-makers about changes that could be made to places such as parks to be more friendly and welcoming to everybody.
Interviews with refugees in different cities were conducted because we are particularly interested in understanding how people who are relatively new to the city experience it and relate to the city over time and because the refugees look at Berlin/London/Sheffield with fresh eyes so we would be thrilled to hear about their experiences.
This research was part of a project organized by researchers at the University of Sheffield, University of Manchester, Young Foundation in London, and Minor organization in Berlin.
